Wayfinder — real places worth going, ticked off together.
Email rambodog555@gmail.com. Say which phone you are on and what you were doing, and you will get a real reply.
Wayfinder is developed and operated by Riley Nicholas Lawler, a sole trader operating RL Applications in Australia (ABN 92 363 169 656).
Wayfinder is still in testing. Account email and recovery may be unreliable. Groups are currently unavailable, Community protections are still being tested, and purchases are not active in the web review build. Keep another copy of important photos and trip notes during testing. See the current Wayfinder support page for testing updates.
Common questions
How do I use the same progress on another phone?
Signed-in progress is designed to sync across devices, but account conversion, email verification, recovery and conflict handling are still being tested. First confirm that changes have synced on the original device, and do not clear its storage while important changes remain unsynced. Email support if you need help.
How do two phones share one list?
Group sharing is currently unavailable while we prepare and test its ownership and privacy controls. When it returns, each person will use their own account and choose whether to share completed adventures. Private notes, ratings and shortlist are intended to remain personal.
Can I keep my own list while I am in a group?
That is the intended design: personal progress belongs to your account, and group sharing is optional. The Personal / Group and sharing controls are currently unavailable while that behaviour is being tested.
“Ticked by” shows the wrong name
Check that each person is signed in to their own account, then set your display name under Me → Settings → Change name. Reconnect the other devices to refresh names. If a completion comes from an older shared account, contact us: a display-name change cannot reliably recover who originally did it.
My two phones disagree about what is ticked
Ticks sync live, but a phone that has been in a pocket for a while can drop the connection. Opening the app reconnects it. If they still disagree, Me → Settings → Force refresh from server.
A photo will not attach
iPhone photos in HEIC format are handled, but a very large photo on a slow connection can take a moment. It is queued on the device and uploads by itself — keep or reopen the app with a connection so the upload can finish. Photos are resized before upload, but uploads still use mobile data when connected that way.
Does it work without signal?
After signing in on that device and loading the list, you can browse and save progress without signal. Changes queue until you reconnect. First sign-in, account recovery, group changes, purchases and account deletion need a connection. Previously unseen photos may also need a connection to load.
How do I delete everything?
The review build includes Me → Delete my account and all my data, while online, but complete removal of associated data is still being verified. During testing, use the account-deletion instructions, including if you cannot access the app. Uninstalling does not delete your account.
Do purchases cover my whole group?
Purchases are not active in the web review build. The planned native model is that packs belong to one Wayfinder account. The Australian base prices are AUD $14.99 once for every continent pack or AUD $2.99 once for an individual continent pack. The store will show the actual local price if purchases are enabled in a future native release.
Does a pack purchase pay for the adventures?
If purchases are enabled in a future native release, a purchase will unlock Wayfinder guide content for your account. Travel, admission, equipment and guide fees are separate. The all-continents bundle is planned to include Antarctica; it will not book or pay for an expedition.
Are adventure costs and visit times live quotes?
Cost bands, durations and difficulty are planning estimates. Transport, equipment, guide requirements and your route can change the total. Check current operator prices, access, weather and travel advice before booking or setting out.
A place in the app has closed, moved or is wrong
Email the adventure name and what changed. Access, opening hours, permits and seasonal closures move around, and corrections are welcome.
What are traveller recommendations?
A separate list of places other people using Wayfinder have suggested and voted on. They are not checked by us and never join the main adventure list — different things, kept apart on purpose.
Something on the Community list is wrong or offensive
Press Report on the post. Three reports hide it from everyone pending review. You can also press Block, which hides that person's posts from your view. Community protections and the review process are still being tested. If something is urgent, email support with enough context to identify it and do not include unnecessary sensitive information.
Request Wayfinder account and data deletion
You can make this request without reinstalling Wayfinder. Follow the current account-deletion instructions. The current route emails rambodog555@gmail.com; preferably write from the address on your Wayfinder account. Do not send your password or identity documents.
RL Applications will verify ownership and confirm completion only after the relevant data and service-provider steps have been checked. The request is intended to cover your account, progress, photos, trips, group memberships and Community contributions. Store transaction records and independently saved copies are separate; deleting an account does not issue a refund. See the Wayfinder privacy supplement for current data and retention information.
Why does a country say “do not travel”?
Some countries carry a warning where the honest advice is not when to go but whether to. It is a convenience and it can be out of date — always check your own government's current travel advice before booking.
